HOW TO CHANGE BANK ACCOUNT DETAILS IN YOUR EPF ACCOUNT

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), the retirement fund’s governing body, permits subscribers to withdraw funds from their EPF accounts. Subscribers must have the relevant bank account in their records to ensure timely credit of the funds withdrawn. Credit transactions can fail if bank details are incorrect.

Although, all EPF processes have been simplified after the adoption of the Universal Account Number (UAN) in 2014. Members’ PF accounts are linked by the UAN, which is a 12-digit unique code that allows them to manage their accounts online. An employee can now use their UAN to transfer payments, make withdrawals, check their PF balance, and change their personal information. There are multiple ways through which you can change your bank account details in your EPF account

First is to rectify it with EPFO’s unified portal

Here’s how one can update bank account details in EPF account online through EPFO portal:

  1.  Visit the EPFO’s member portal and login through your username and password.
  2. Go to the top menu bar and click ‘Manage’ option.
  3.  Select the ‘KYC’ option from drop-down.
  4.  Select document type – bank.
  5.  As per the bank’s data, provide the right bank account number and IFSC.
  6.  Save the file by clicking the ‘save’ button.
  7.  The details will appear under the ‘KYC pending for approval’ page once they have been saved.
  8.  Now, provide the proof of the document to the employer.
  9.  The status of the documents will be displayed under ‘Digitally Approved KYC’ once they have been validated by the employer.
  10. On the registered mobile number, an SMS will be received.
